TITHE & OFFERING
According to the eternal law of reciprocity, when we honor God in the tithe we are promised more in return. It’s like seed that a farmer plants in the ground. That seed is potent by nature, but it first must be sown into the soil in order to produce a return.
The Bible asks us to give our first and our best back to God and He will bless the rest (Leviticus 27:30 NIV, Deuteronomy 14:23 AMP). This first is the tithe, or “tenth” of our income. We return to the Lord 10% of what He’s given us, because it belongs to Him. The tithe is a very practical and tangible way to put God first. Essentially, it’s a contract based on the promises of God in Malachi 3:10-11 NIV.
Our offering is an act of love and devotion. Financial offering is a gift above and beyond our tithe. This is our way of expressing an extra measure of appreciation and thankfulness to God. In both our tithe and offering there is a law at work, it’s called the law of reciprocity.
In our digital age when people are increasingly paying bills and conducting commerce online, Parkway Church has chosen to make online giving available to those who are interested. You are free to give via the weekly offering in the service, by mailing your contribution in to the office, or through our website. We welcome you to give whatever and however God has called you to. The technology that permits online transactions via debit cards also permits giving via credit cards and makes no distinction between the two.
When you give online, by clicking the “Give Now” button below, you will be taken to a secure page hosted by Paypal. Your online giving is secure and private. Parkway Church does not receive any account numbers. If you have any questions about this process or need further assistance please contact our church office at 602-265-7838.
